Garbage and Refuse

Trash and recycling service in Yorkshire is provided by Texas Pride Disposal.

Pickup Schedule

Garbage: backdoor and curbside service every Wednesday and Saturday, excluding holidays.

Recycling: curbside service on Wednesday. Please have recycling at the curb by 6 AM Wednesday morning.

Please have all waste ready for collection no later than 6:00 AM on pickup days.

Household Garbage

Place waste in your own containers (20 to 95 gallons) or in bags.

Cans and bags cannot weigh more than 50 pounds.

Drums and barrels are not allowed and will be disposed of.

Heavy Trash and Bulk Items

Two heavy items are collected each service day. Heavy trash includes furniture (couches, tables, mattresses, box springs, desks, dressers), appliances and hot water heaters.

Fencing, decking and siding: remove all nails, cut into lengths of 4 feet or less, and tie in bundles under 50 pounds (limit eight bundles per service day).

Carpeting and flooring: cut into lengths of 4 feet or less and tie in bundles under 50 pounds (limit eight bundles per service day).

Yard Waste

Place grass clippings in cans or bags at the curb on the day of or evening before scheduled pick up.  Yard waste must be under 50 pounds.

Branches go in clear, individual piles no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet, or tied in bundles under 50 pounds. Branches should be no more than 6 inches in diameter, with a limit of eight bundles per service day.

What You Can Recycle

Paper and cardboard: newspaper, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, envelopes, greeting cards, wrapping paper, file folders, computer and construction paper, grocery bags, soda and beer boxes, shoe boxes, clean pizza boxes, cardboard boxes, juice cartons, egg cartons, paper towel rolls and phone books.

Plastics (please rinse): plastics #1 through #7, including milk and juice jugs, soda and water bottles, shampoo and soap bottles, bleach, detergent and household cleaner containers, plastic flower pots, yogurt cups, cups, plates and dinnerware, and prescription pill containers.

Metals (please rinse): soda, juice and beer cans, canned food and pet food cans, aluminum foil, pie trays, metal jar lids, gutters shorter than 5 feet and empty aerosol cans.

Glass (please rinse): beer, wine and soda bottles, and jars.
